When a person's blood glucose levels are higher than what they normally would be but not high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes, that person is diagnosed as having pre-Diabetes.
Pre-Diabetes can be thought of as a precursor to the onset of Type 2 Diabetes. It is believed that those with pre-Diabetes will develop full-blown Type 2 Diabetes within 10 years. Those with pre-Diabetes also run the risk of developing heart disease.
But there is one good thing about being diagnosed with pre-Diabetes, and it's the chance to help prevent or delay the onset of Type 2 Diabetes with proper exercise and diet management.
